About

A highly accomplished senior counsel complemented with more than 19 years of standing at bar in Supreme Court of India, various High Courts, Commissions, Regulatory bodies and Tribunals. Well proficient in civil litigation, criminal litigation, revenue matters and constitutional law.

Pradeep Rai is a many-faceted individual who has been able to link the legal profession with activism and human rights. Sensing a vacuum in this area—the lack of adequately trained reporters and editors capable of transmitting and explaining the experience of law as it impacts the human condition, society and governance.

This combination of law and journalism – he has a passion for both which led him to explore new depths and avenues over the last decade until he could, himself, emerge as a media entrepreneur which would help him straddle both professions. Even though he started decade ago –with his pet magazine ventures, India Legal , he hired a professionally-driven editorial staff with editors of national and international standing capable of guiding a team and drawing in some of the best known writers as contributors on a regular basis.

India Legal, however, remains Pradeep’s flagship brand because it reflects his own vision and personality. It is India’s first politico-legal weekly magazine featuring current events, commentary and investigations hinged on legal themes, as well as major developments within the judiciary. Read by judges, lawyers, and the law enforcement community
